mIRC Introduction
mIRC
mIRC is the name of a popular program used for chatting on IRC, the technology on which CentralChat is based. Users of mIRC can connect to CentralChat and chat as they normally would via the Java applet.
mIRC offers several advantages over the Java applet (the Java chat box is what you use to chat from within Internet Explorer or Firefox). mIRC allows you to send files to other chatters, choose display fonts and colours for your chat window, add scripts for extra functionality (such as mp3 players, away systems, etc.) and other advanced features such as an address book and perform list (a list of commands to be performed automatically when you connect to CentralChat, like identifying to NickServ).
